Do you suffer from frizz or always looking for a hair serum to tame those flyaways? Are you looking to buy Trufella Hibiscus Anti-Frizz Hair Serum to treat them? Read on my review of Trufella Hibiscus Anti-Frizz Hair Serum to know the complete details about this serum.
About the product
I am always on the lookout for a good silicone-free hair serum as my hair is cursed with eternal frizz and tangles. While wandering around the corners of the internet, I came across this hair serum.
I was impressed with the ingredient list as this claimed to be a silicone-free anti-frizz hair serum, enriched with all the nutritious hair oils. I bought this even though I had never heard about this company before. And then I just shelved it after one use.
Somehow, I wasn’t impressed after first use so I just left it in my shelf. Recently, I started using it in a couple of different ways.
Trufella hibiscus hair serum comes in a transparent bottle with a small pump. The small pump dispenses the right amount of product. It has an additional, outer cap to protect from leakage or contamination.
The packaging and look of the bottle is pretty basic but serves the purpose.
The list of ingredients is listed at the back of the bottle.
Hibiscus flower, almond oil, olive oil, sesame oil, apricot seeds, coconut oil, argan oil, sunflower oil, rosemary oil, jojoba oil, vitamin E oil.
As you can see, this contains a lot of oils. I was skeptical if it will suit my sometimes dry/lanky hair or not.
How to use
Surprisingly, this gives detailed instructions to apply.
Apply to soaking wet hair. Dispense a dime-size amount of serum into palm. Rub hands together, and distribute evenly throughout the hair. Avoid applying directly to Roots. Use more or less depending on hair length and thickness. Do not rinse out.
I have found one pump is generally enough for me. I have used this on both wet as well as dry hair to see how it works.
Trufella Hibiscus Anti Frizz Hair Serum Review
So how did this serum fare with my sometimes dry/lanky hair? Before diving into the review, let me first share details about it.
50ml bottle costs around INR 449 but I got it for 299 on Amazon.
It has a light pink color which looks cute from the transparent bottle. The serum has medium-thick consistency, neither too runny nor too thick and spreads easily on hair. The consistency resembles a typical silicone laded serum and does not feel like only oils.
Now here I have an issue with this serum. This serum has a strong artificial smell and it stays for some time even after application.
Plus, only oils are mentioned in the ingredients list and no fragrance is mentioned. And the smell is too strong to be of only oils. I would have appreciated if the fragrance was clearly called out.
The smell is strong even for a mildly sensitive nose like mine.
My review of Trufella Hibiscus Anti-Frizz Hair Serum
I was highly excited to try this when I got this hair serum. I thought this was the answer to all my hair woes. Unfortunately, the fragrance bothered me as it was too strong to be of only oils. Since fragrance was not mentioned in the ingredients, it led me to doubt if really the complete ingredient list is printed or not.
Coming to the application, the first time around, I applied this serum on the day I received it, which was the third day after hair wash. It made my hair limp and oily, imagine my disappointment.
Next time around, I used it after hair wash on wet hair and let my hair air dry. Once dried, my hair was properly styled with very few tangles. Post that, I have used it on the second or third day after hair wash. I wet my hair a little bit with hands and then apply this serum. It takes care of most of the tangles and leaves hair smooth.
It removes tangles and frizz while making hair smooth. Also, it does not make hair sticky or oily at all which is great.
This claims to eliminate chronic frizz and repel humidity for glossy, silky-smooth hair. To an extent, it delivers to these claims as it reduces frizz and makes hair smooth.
- Reduces frizz and major tangles
- Makes hair smooth
- Did not make hair oily or sticky
- Available at all major online stores at great discount
- Did not cause any extra hair fall
- Very strong smell even for mildly sensitive nose
- Ingredient list did not contain fragrance
- Consistency similar to silicone serums
- Expensive even after discount
I won’t recommend this serum mainly due to fragrance. Give this a try if you are not bothered by a strong smell or don’t mind using silicone serums.
No. I’m not repurchasing this one as there are better alternatives available in the market.
2 spoon of happiness.
Unfortunately, I was not satisfied with this serum, mainly due to smell and doubt in ingredients.
